Through our Bridge to Stability program, Mainely Empowering Foundation helps Cumberland and York County families facing eviction or foreclosure act early — payment arrangements, direct assistance, and financial education that keep one hard month from costing a family everything.

Grand Opening — October 28, 2026
Mainely Empowering Foundation marks its public launch on Wednesday, October 28, with a ribbon cutting in Portland. The event is by invitation, for partners, funders, and invited guests.
We began serving families quietly in July. Since then, more than twenty callers have reached us, and we have worked directly with nineteen households across Cumberland and York Counties — screening, resource navigation, and referral. Three received direct financial assistance toward arrears, paid to the landlord or lender. Nobody has been turned away.

Where We Work
Mainely Empowering Foundation launched its pilot program on July 1, 2026, currently serving Cumberland and York Counties. As our program grows and funding allows, we plan to expand into additional counties across Maine.
Why This Matters
Housing costs in Maine have climbed sharply faster than incomes over the past decade, leaving many renters and homeowners cost-burdened and at growing risk of eviction or foreclosure. MEF was built to intervene before that risk becomes a housing loss.
