What Happens After You Apply
Once you submit an application, we’ll reach out promptly to learn more about your situation. From there, we’ll work with you to understand what kind of support makes sense — whether that’s help communicating with a landlord or lender, connecting you to emergency funds or legal resources, or pointing you toward other assistance programs in your area. Because we’re in a pilot phase, we’re building our capacity as we go, and we’ll always be upfront with you about what we can and can’t help with directly.

Do I Qualify?
To be eligible for Bridge to Stability, you generally need to:
- Be a renter or homeowner in Cumberland or York County, Maine
- Be 1-2 months behind on rent or mortgage payments, OR have received an eviction/foreclosure notice but still have time before your court date
- Have household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income for your household size
If you already have a court date scheduled, we may not be able to help directly — Pine Tree Legal Assistance (1-800-442-4293) and 211 Maine can provide support for active eviction cases.
